SPENCER CORDELL

Know all men by these presents that we Spencer, John Swingle & Hannah Swingle his wife Ervin Cordell, Benjamin Cordell, Ellis Mickey and Matilda Mickey Him at Law of Elizabeth Cordell late of the County of Cedar deceased for and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred and seventy five dollars to us in hand paid by James M. Fraiser of the County of Cedar and State of Missouri the receipt is hereby acknowledged as by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the said Frasier and to his heirs and assigns forever the undivided one half of a certain negro girl slave for life named Minerva it being the same girl conveyed by John Adams to the said Elizabeth Cordell and her heirs by Bill of Sale dated the 10th day of April 1853 which Bill of Sale is recorded in the Recorders office in the County of Cedar and State of Missouri in deed Book A. Page 399.  To have and to hold the said undivided one half of said negro slave unto the said James M. Frasier and his heirs and assigns together with her increase forever and we the said Spencer Cordell, John Swingle and Hannah his wife, Ervin Cordell, Benjamin Cordell and Ellis Mickey and Matilda his wife do covenant to and with the said James M. Frazier his heirs and assigns that we have good right to sell and covey the one half of said slave and that we will and our heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title to the one half of said negro slave unto the said Frasier his heirs and Assigns forever.  In Testimony wherof we have heron set our hands and affixed our names this 9th day of April A. D. 1855.
