From Wilson County Chancery Court Records 1850-1854:

"Bill of complaint of Robert C. Lain against P.K. Williamson, executor of James M. Crutchfield, James W. Bashaw and wife Elizabeth B., Richard T. and Nancy Crutchfield, the minor children of the said James M. Crutchfield. Said Robert C. Lain states that his grandfather, Wood Jones, died in 1833. He gave to his daughter, Elizabeth B. several slaves. If said Elizabeth B. died within 90 years without issue, then the increase was to be divided among the other heirs. Said Elizabeth B. was the wife of Adison Lain. She was divorced from his father in 1833 or 34. She then intermarried with James M. Crutchfield by whom she had two children, to wit, Richard T. and Nancy E. The said Robert C. Lain insists on his share of the estate. Jul 1853. (Pp. 443-457)."
