In the Name of God Amen 18 March 1686/87 I Richard Lane of the County of Surry in ___ of Lawnes Creeke, being Sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory prayed be God for the Land ____ in certainity of this life on Earth, being _____to left ____ in order, do in able this my last Will and Testament in manner for following, that is to say first and ________ joined my soul to Almighty God that gave it, _____ beleiving that I shall receive full Parton I free ______ of all my sins and be saved by the precios Death ____ of my beloved Saviour Christ Jesus and my god to the earth from whence it came to be buried in South____ Fort at my Loving wife shall think needed and as to ___ my Wordly Estate while the Lord in Mercy hath lent me, my Will and meaning is that it shall be Ju___ bye beloved as hereafter by this my Will she shall be ______ (Excutrix).

Impress I give & bequesth __ my Loving Wife all my Land houses & all my Cattle ____ Horses & Mares hoggs and all other of my Personal Estate which I now (enjoy). In Wittnesses whereof I have sett my hand & Seal.
