I have a g-g-grandfather named Meredith Alexander LANE (often misspelled Meredy or Merida) who lived and died in Blount County, TN, son of Payton LANE & Margaret (Peggy) LOVE. He was born 9 Dec 1825 and died 1 May 1909.
The similarity of name and that he was the generation after your Meredith LANE may mean that he was a relative.
His father Payton LANE was born 28 Aug 1796 in VA, died 27 Feb 1845 in Blount County, TN. His father was John LANE, whose tombstone reads born 15 May 1761 [in VA?] and died 13 Apr 1845. I am still searching for his parents.

I am looking for Nannie Lane b: about 1870 in Tenn. Where in Tenn is another mystery. She married Willie Charles Brown b: 7/1870 in Mississipp and d: in Stones River, Tenn. One of the census records that I found having a Nannie Lane as a daughter had her listed as the daughter of Paul Lane and his wife Mary Jane. Paul was born in 1851 in Tenn. and his wife was b: 1852 in Tenn.
Willie and Nannie had several children and one was my ggrandfather, Joe Brown b: 5/2/1891 in Rutherford Co., Tenn. d: 2/27/1958 in Lubbock, Texas. He married Ida Caldonia Corder on 12/22/1907 in Rutherford Co., Tenn. Ida was b: 5/27/1892 in Maury Co., Tenn and d: 8/2/1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Any help with Nannie Lane would be appreciated.

His father, Marion Everett Lane, was born 7/26/07 at home around Wichita, KS. Marion Everett went by Everett for many years, but in the 1940's he started to use Mike. His nickname was "spizzer". Marion Everett's mother was Cleo Shirkey. His father was a William Lane, born?. William may have lived around Eureka, KS around the turn of the century. That is all the information I currently have. LANE, SAMUEL s/o Richard and Catherine (GROOM) LANE. Samuel was b. abt. 1783 of Baltimore Co MD, d. 1818 Muskingum Co OH. I am looking for his first wife. They were married about 1805 in Huntingdon Co PA. Their children were Sarah b. abt. 1806, Catherine b. abt. 1808, Ureth b. abt. 1811. This first wife died, but I don't know if she died in Huntingdon Co PA or Muskingum Co OH. Samuel moved to Muskingum Co OH about 1810. On 23 Oct 1810 he married Elizabeth WILLIAMS in Muskingum Co OH. I believe Elizabeth was the mother of my ancestor Richard Samuel Lane.
