LANE, Conner
Looking for information on Galway County Lanes in Ireland. Connor LANE married Mary HIGGINS in 1855 in Moylough/Mountbellow, Co. Galway, per research done by East Galway Family History Society Company, Ltd. There is another Connor Lane from the same area (uncle, father, or cousin), that they found. His son, James had a bunch of family info in that area also. One of my Connor's son's, John stayed in Ireland and married an Bridget GRAHAN (CREHAN). According to the 1901 Census, they were still there then, and had children Mary (age 4), Bridget (age 2), and Connor (age 3 months). I am interested in tracking this family.

My grandmother was Margaret (Margarit, Margarite) Catherine LANE, b. (baptised) April 27, 1862 to Connor (Conor) LANE and Mary HIGGINS in Moylough/Mountbellew, Co. Galway. She had brothers & sisters: Judith b. 1856, Michael b. 1857, Thomas b. 1860, Martin b. 1864, Mary b. 1875, and John b. ca 1870.

Margaret immigrated at about 19, or in 1881 (no record found in Kirbys), and went to work for a cousin in Holy Oke, Wisc. to pay for passage. She moved to Montana (where a great number of cousins were located in the Gallatin County area). She married James M. Donahue on March 03, 1896 in Bozeman, Montana and died on March 24, 1947 in Three Forks, Montana. They had three children: Joseph Patrick Donahue b. June 10, 1898, Mary A. Donahue b. April 09, 1900, and James Cornelius b. August 05, 1902.

James married Alma Jane (Jane Marie) Albrecht, b. March 13, 1903, on November 27, 1937. They had five children: James Thomas b. October 11, 1938, Jane Marie b. November 03, 1939, Catherine Margaret b. July 12, 1941, Joseph Patrick (myself) b. December 14, 1943, and Warren Carl b. October 10, 1945.

I have some additional information on the LANE cousins as they are extensive in the Three Forks, Montana area. Also, some additional info on one family of cousins (?) in Galway. I am looking for information on the Galway Lanes after 1900; a way to tie the other Connor Lane family to mine in Galway; and information on Margaret's immigration. Would welcome any information or hearing from some cousins :)

LANE, Susan
The information below was taken fron various Mason County, Kentucky Census information. While not related to me, this family has become of interest to me. Are any of these names familiar to anyone out there? Please let me know if so .

1880 Census:
LAINE, James (Husband) 38
- - - Susan (wife) 33
- - - Mattie B. (daughter) 5
COLEMAN, William (B/L) 19

1900 Census:
LANE, James (Husband) 55 B=July,1841 - - - Susan (wife) 53 B=January,1847
- - - Mattie B. (daughter) 22 B=November,1877(?)

1910 Census:
LANE, Susan (wd) 66 B=January,1847
- - - Mattie B. (daughter) (age=?) B=November,1877(?)

1920 Census:
LANE, William (Head of Household/Brother-in-Law) 75
Susan (sister-in-law) 75
- - - Mattie B. (daughter) 44

Both Susan & her daughter, Maggie, took in people's wash at thier home to make a living according to the 1920 Census. Susan's maidern name may have been COLEMAN. Furthermore, it appeared that Susan and her daughter could read and write according to the 1900 census. Do these names sound familiar to anyone out there?

LANE, Mary
I need help establishing the family of origin for Mary LANE, b. 1799 (GA or KY). Around 1816 Mary married Robert HUIE, b. abt 1792. They had 5 children in Hickman County, TN. Just after the birth of their youngest in 1827/28, they moved to Illinois. Robert died in 1828 in Wayne County, IL. Children of Mary LANE and Robert HUIE:
Thomas Harrison, b. 1817
Lucy E., b. 1818
Beverly Dodson, b. 1822
William Henderson, b. 1824
Nancy, b. abt 1828

Mary (2nd) married James BOULTINGHOUSE on 20 Nov 1830 in Edward County, IL. They had 6 children together. Around 1837 there was an emigration of allied families to Scott County, AR.
Lucy E. HUIE married Thomas G. HANKS in White County on 14 March 1837.
Lucy and Thomas are listed in the White County census of 1850, with no children of their own, but several minor children by the surname SLANKARD are living in their household. By 1852 Lucy HUIE HANKS, now the "Widow HANKS", was married to Jackson HON, and living in Scott County, AR. [Jackson HON had moved to Scott County from White County, IL with his first wife in the emigration period around 1836].
