Lane Crest The Lane Crest was submitted by Philip Snow.
Phillip states: The arms were found on several pieces of engraven plates presented by John Lane, double first cousin of Samuel Lane, to the Bread Street Ward Church in London. The plate has been seen by A. Russell Slagle, a noted Lane researcher. From his research, it was noted that the arms were first mentioned in the 1564 Visitation of Northampton.
When I visited London, last year I could find only one church even close to Bread Street. It was the one that, if you were born within hearing distance of the church bell, you automatically became and were called "Cockney".

"Per pale azure, and gules three saltires couped argent,
issuant from a cresent or two Eagles' heads
the dexter gules the sinister azure."
