Susan Beatrice Wildey and Family

Susan Beatrice3 Wildey (Edward Henry2, Thomas1) was born 29 August 1861 in Rome, Oneida Co. NY. [1] It is unclear who raised Susan and her sisters after their mother's death in 1864, but in 1875 the 14-year old Susan was living with her widowed grandmother, Amelia Farr, in Rome. [a] She has not been found in the 1880 census, but was probably working as a servant, as her older sisters had done before their marriages. If so, she was likely employed in Kirkland, a town in Oneida county where her sister Celia was living on a farm with her new husband and Charles Timian, a 24-year-old widowed farm laborer, was living with his parents. [b]

Susan married Charles G. Timian c. 1881. The bride was about 20 years of age, Charles would have been about 24. [2] Charles was born in May 1857 in Utica, Oneida Co. NY, [3] the son of Christian Timian, an immigrant stonemason from Prussia.[4] The young couple In 1900 he was working as a boilermaker in the city of Lockport. [5] Charles died suddenly of heart disease on 26 August 1910 at the family home in Lockport. He was only 54 years old at the time. [6]

After his death Susan married Joseph M. Tagg. Joseph was born in New York c. 1868. In 1920 he was working as a moulder in a foundry and owned his home free of any mortgage. [7]

Susan Wildey and Charles Timian had the following following children:
 

12 i. Mary A. Timian was born 10 July 1887. [8]
+ 13 ii. Frank Ellsworth Timian was born 8 December 1889 in New York. [9]
14 iii. Fredrica Timian was born in New York on 13 June 1894. [10]
15 iv. Mildred Victoria Timian was born 31 August 1895 in Lockport, Niagara Co. NY at the family home at 258 Vine St.[11]
16 v. Verna E. Timian was born c. 1905 in New York. [12]
17 vi. Thelma M. Timian was born in New York c. 1908. [13]
18 vii. Unknown child. In the 1910 census Susan indicated that she was the mother of seven children, only six of whom were living. [14]
