An interesting notation by William E. Railey in the "History of Woodford County" KY. On pages 280 & 281, he speaks of the Waddy Thomson family. On page 282, he continues with Gen. David Thomson and makes this comment: "General David Thomson, of Scott County, spelled his name as did the Woodford County family of the name, being a full-blooded Scotchman, and I have been told by those who have seen members of both branches that there was a very striking resemblance between them. Both families married into the Major family, but neither side has been able to trace relationship if any exists."
