Rhoda Jane Bartlett

And Some of Her Descendants

Rhoda Jane BARTLETT, second daughter and second child of Nicholas BARTLETT and Mary MARTIN,^1,2 was born in 1769.³ She married Reuben ROGERS, son of Alexander ROGERS and _____ _____, in 1785 in Rockingham County, Virginia.⁴

They were living in Stafford County, Virginia in 1786 and lived for many years on the Nolichucky River in Washington County, Tennessee, where he died in 1865.⁵

Reuben ROGERS⁶ died on 11 Oct 1865 in Washington County, Tennessee.⁷ He was an ensign in the War of 1812 and in January 1814 was in Capt. John Hampton's company of Tennessee Militia. On 19 Nov 1850, when he was living in Washington, County, Tennessee, he received a disability pension for an inguinal hernia resulting from excessive labor and exposure while in military service.⁸

Children of Rhoda Jane BARTLETT and Reuben ROGERS were:

• 4. iii. Nicholas ROGERS^14,15 died in Tazewell, Claiborne County, Tennessee.¹⁶
• 5. iv. Andrew ROGERS^17,18 died in Tazewell, Claiborne County, Tennessee.¹⁹
• 6. v. Mary ROGERS^20,21 was born in 1805 in Virginia.²² She married Michael STINSON in 1823 in Virginia.²³ She died in 1875 in Madison County, Illinois.²⁴
• 7. vi. Joseph ROGERS^25,26 was born in 1813 in Washington County, Tennessee.²⁷ He died in Ogden, Weber County, Utah.²⁸
