[2514] Matt Johannes, son of Peter and Etta Johannes and Erleen Stamm of Sibley were married in Ashton and farmed west of Ashton just in Lyon County from 1934 until 1971 when they moved into Ashton. Matt passed away in June of 1971. They were the parents of eleven children: Robert, Janet (Mrs. Roland Messier), Roger, JoAnn (Mrs. Merlyn Scheiber), Donald, Mary Ann (Mrs. Jom Hallenbeck), Barbara (Mrs. Bill Renken), Earl, Diane (MRs. Donald Renken), Jean (Mrs. Raymond Coover) and Patricia (deceased).
