Photo circa 1850. Joseph Mauk is the son of Samuel MAUK and Catherine "Caty" HOOPIS MAUK. He is the grandson of Frederick and Margaret SWARTZ (BLACK) MAUK. He is the great-grandson of Old Peter of Tom's Brook and his wife Julianna RHINEHART MAUK. Joseph was born 17 Nov 1815 and died 27 Apr 1891. Sarah "Sally" Jane HOLBROOK is the daughter of William R. HOLBROOK. She was born 24 Aug 1820 and died 5 Mar 1888. They were married 11 July 1842
