William DeHart died last Wednesday morning after an illness of only a few days, the immediate cause of death being a paralytic stroke. Mr. DeHart was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania Dec. 26th, 1836, and was at the time of his death almost 70 years of age. He was married to Rebecca Jane Hess at Commonstown, Pennsylvania Oct. 21st, 1860 removing at once to Shelbyville, Ind., where they remained four years. In 1864 they moved to Illinois where they remained until 1900 at which time they came to North Dakota renting a farm near here. There was born to Mr. And Mrs. DeHart, eight children, five girls and three boys of which three girls and three boys are still living. The deceased leaves these and the wife to mourn his loss. The youngest son, J.L. lived with his parents near this place and recently bought a farm to make a home for his parents during their old age. L.B. DeHart another son recently moved from here to California. A daughter lives in California, and a son and two other daughters live in Illinois. The funeral will be held from the home tomorrow at 12 o’clock. Rev. McLeod of this place preaching the sermon, and the body will be laid to rest in Starkweather cemetery. Mr. DeHart’s friends were limited only to the number of his acquaintances and the sorrowing relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their bereavement.
