- GENDEX allows you to search by surname through a combined index of thousands of genealogy web sites ( including this one ) containing millions of individuals. Also provides instructions for adding your site to the index.
- GenForum is a great place to connect with other researchers who share your interests. It provides a 'bulletin board' or 'forum' format where you can post your queries or information by surname and search other's postings by keyword. Your posting is listed immediately.
- Ancestry.com has a lot to offer anyone researching American families. Many free databases and even more for a small subscription fee. Great search capabilities. Search PERSI, Social Security Death Records, census data, vital records and much more. You can also search gedcom files submitted by others and download those of interest to you as well as making your own gedcoms available to others.
- USGenWeb Project provides links to many independently operated websites for states, counties, and towns thoughout the US. This page will let you start your search by choosing a state.
- Family Tree Maker, a maker of best-selling genealogy software, maintains this site. Definitely worth a visit.
- GenConnect Global Search is another good site to search if you looking for folks with similar research interests.
- RootsWeb provides search engines, online databases, and much more for world-wide reasearch.
