Barret, Geo Mc Gehee, Charles Nickols and Bejamin Harris Witnesses thereto &amp; by the Court ordered to be recorded and the said execution having made oath thereto and entered into bond with approved security conditioned as the law directs. A certificate is granted them for obtaining a probat thereof in due form.</p> <p>Teste</p> <p>Comments: Note how Charles signed his name as Nuckolls but the court wrote it down as Nickols. Also, Benjamin&#146;s name was misspelled by the court. Now you're going to start seeing what we family folks call, 1 "L" Nuckols.   We don't rightly know why some had only one "L" in their names and some had two but we're all family just the same.

There were some interesting stories about these families.  The George B. Nuckolls family had Oil found on the Old Homestead back in the 1930's.  Those descendants are still enjoying the benefits of the strike.  Samuel O. Nuckolls had family members that moved on to LA and some stayed in AL until death.  Most were well educated folks.  Doctor's and Lawyer's.  Stephen T. Nuckolls is one I don't have too much personal history on. I know that his brother George B. went to see him and while he was there, Stephen died.  George began to think of his imortality after that.  We have a letter he wrote to his brother, Samuel O. about Stephen's passing.

Pouncey's family is well documented also.  They migrated to TX, KY and other places.

These men would see their sons go to war.  I can imagine the pain at watching so many young men go.......never knowing if they would ever see them again.
