Claimant should give English and Indian names if possible of their parents

and grandparents back to 1835: Mother died when I was nine years old. Don't

know anything about her people.

Give additional facts that would support this claim: I had one uncle, Brother

to my mother, George Goude. He was a full-blooded Indian.

Signed by John C. Murray and M. L. Merrill who being duly sworn on oath

depose and say that they are well acquainted with Robert Huntsinger, who

makes the foregoing application and statements, and have known him for 7

years, and know him to be the identical person he represents, and statements

made by him are true, to the best of their knowledge and belief, and they

have no interest whatever in his claim.

Letter to Robert Huntsinger

Sir:

Relative to your application for participation in the fund arising from the

judgment of the Court of Claims in favor of the Eastern Cherokee, state where

you resided in 1882, and why you were not enrolled at that time.

Why was the parent through whom you claim not enrolled in 1851, and where was

he or she residing in 1834-35, if living at that time? Where were your

grandparents on the side through which you claim residing in 1834-35?

If you were a slave, please state whether a slave of Indians or White people.

Robert Huntsinger being first duly sworn deposes and says:

My name is Robert Huntsinger. I live at R.F.D. 2, Box 54, Fletcher, NC. I was

born in 1852 Polk Co., NC. I claim Seminole Indian Blood. My uncle always

told me that it was Seminole. I claim through my mother who was a Seminole

Indian.

Subscribed and sworn to before me at Asheville, NC. This 18th day of July

1908.

to 1846. Nor does it appear that any ancestor was ever enrolled. Shows no

real connection with the Eastern Cherokee's.
