Also, from GRIFFITH OF YORK COUNTY, PA., Collected by Albert Cook Myers 1895.

Statement of Abraham Griffith, born 10 mo 1st 1745, died 1831, aged 96.  "According to tradition in our family I have often heard that Grandfather William Griffith came from Wales about the year 1682 or 3 or between that and 90. He first settled in Newcastle Co Delaware. He came a poor man to America and remained poor all his life: lived to be 105 years old, nine of his last with his son, my father. My father William Griffith was born in New Castle County 1714; first crost the river Susquehanna 1736; went back home that winter, returned next spring, settled on Bever Creek {error) where he lived the remainder of his life. He was twice married, both times by the meeting; whether born a member or not I never heard. If he had any money past his own earning it must have came from his mother's side of the house. I have no recollection of ever hearing anything of Grandmother Griffith her name of family." (words, crost, Bever, copied as written) Hope this will help you, it's all I have. Doris
