Elisha Griffith, Revolutionary Patriot This is just the extract for Genealogical purposes.... I give and bequeth my worldly goods to Henry Howard Griffith and his heirs the farm on which I now reside and he goes on to name animals and farm equipment, etc. He names Catherine as his wife, she is to be cared for til the end of her life. He names his daughters: Harriet DAVIS, Mary WEST, Sarah GARTHES, and Catherine BARNET. After mentioning these folks, he makes this statement, "before named equally, it may appear strange to note that having MANY OTHER CHILDREN besides those mentioned, as legatees I have willed nothing to them. It may therefore be proper that I here asign my reasons for not doing so. They are simply not named in my will and have other wise been provided for in my life. I just wish he had at least named them. He mentions a brother as John H. GRIFFITH to be an executor along with Henry. |
