General Order)
No. 25 )

The Col. Comdg. Learns with pain and regret that many of the soldiers of his command are addicted to the vice of Gambling.

Freedom from this vice strengthens man's patriotism, infuses better discipline among the Soldiery and leaves an untarnished record for the friends at home to praise.

It is therefore made the duty of each company commander to see that his men are free from this vice and any refusal to comply with the spirit of this order will be noted and the delinquent rapidly censored or punished.
