Note: There is a discrepancy in his date of death:
Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War have a date of death of Nov. 13, 1897.
The Hall County, Nebraska website has a date of Jan 1, 1897.
His tombstone says and FindaGrave says Nov. 11, 1897
His Widow Scharlotte (Charlotte) filed for a pension on December 16, 1897, so any of the dates could be correct. I have no way of determining which one is right.
But I have used the tombstone date.
