Note: There is a discrepancy in his date of death. The roster says he died Nov. 20, 1864 at Cairo, Ill, from an accidental gunshot wound. But I found a newspaper article dated August 27, 1864 that reported that he died in a hunting accident near Coffin's Grove, Delaware County, Iowa in August 1864.
