BLOCKHOUSE TO BE "WROTE UP"
Pioneer Organization Wants All Data on Historic Structure, Report States

Cooperating with the Klickitat Valley Pioneer Association, The News this week submits several questions to its readers, all of which concern the historic Blockhouse which now stands at the rear of the county cottage and for which the pioneers are making a determined effort to restore and renovate. In connection with the pioneer program of restoration, all data concerning the Blockhouse is being gathered so that a complete history of the building may be compiled and placed in the pioneer files. Questions which are to be answered, if News' readers are able to supply the much wanted and needed information follow:
Who was the first owner of the property now known as the "Saxton place?" In what year and who constructed the Blockhouse? Who advocated moving it from its first location? In what year were the timbers placed near the courthouse and who moved it? When was it moved north of the cemetery? Who rebuilt it? What became of the missing timbers? In what year and who reconstructed the blockhouse in its present location? Who assisted? Was it first a 2-story building? Will someone who first lived near its first location give information concerning its structure and appearance? Does any one remember who occupied it when used as a fort? And what was it used for afterwards?
In fact, the pioneers say, they want all of the information available concerning the blockhouse. When all of the data is compiled, a complete history of the structure will be published by The News.
