WYERS MAKES RIDE TO GLENWOOD IN 5¾ HOUR TIME
Celebrates Fifty Years of Mail Carrying by Record Run

Teunis Wyers celebrated his 50th year at carrying the mail for Uncle Sam Sunday in a big way, riding the 40 miles into Glenwood from White Salmon in the fast time of 5 hours and 45 minutes, using four horses for the out-bound trip. Members of the Klickitat County Sheriff's posse accompanied Wyers on the last leg of the journey into Glenwood.
A total of 138 fine cattle horses were in the big parade at Glenwood. The White Salmon Dressed Meat company furnished nine fine cattle horses for the big show according to Bill Lauterbach Wednesday.
A big feature of the Glenwood celebration which this year due to war conditions took the place of the annual Rodeo that has been brought in from all parts of the country, was the fine, "home talent" rodeo put on by the Glenwood people.
A wonderful picnic dinner at noon Sunday in Glenwood was another of the highlights of the "Teunis Wyers Day" at Glenwood.
Klickitat county ranchers and cattle men from all parts of the county were entered in the various rodeo events.
