"White Salmon"
Things are going ahead just as if county division were already accomplished. It must be done that way, for name, place and commissioners must be given on the bill to the legislature. That is why this commissioner district of Fruit Valley, Bingen and White Salmon must select three candidates for the ballot on election day. Herbert Williams of Fruit Valley says he has heard several suggest L.A. McClintock for their precinct. Mr. McClintock lives in White Salmon. With Mr. Williams, the Enterprise believes Mr. McClintock would make a good commissioner. He came here with only a pack on his back, worked in a logging camp, then came to town and from a little store built up the largest hardware and implement business on this side of the rive. He has acquired land, and his business is now that of ranching. There is no question as to his business ability, he knows all parts of the county, their needs, knows the value of the economy, and has given a lot of his time and money in the campaign for county division -- to the worker belongs some reward.
