TROUT LAKE BUDGET OF NEWS
Valley Much Interested in County Division

A mass meeting was held here at the school hall Monday night when male voters of this valley were well represented. Speakers from Hood River and White Salmon made speeches concerning the advisability of forming a new county for the west end of Klickitat. Among those speaking for division were Rev. Tate of Hood River, A.R. Hayes, C.L. Colburn and Charles Spencer of White Salmon; some Trout Lake men also spoke for county division. Tuesday night several Trout Lake men visited Glenwood where a county division meeting was held. Last Saturday night Wm. Coate and others from here were at Glenwood for the same purpose. Wednesday night an enthusiastic meeting was held at the lower school house for the purpose of talking county division. Now if the women will take an interest with their men folks in the county division matter it will show that we want it; but if half the men and most of the women stay away from the primaries next Tuesday it will prove to the legislature that we don't care much about it and the bill would will be a dead one before it comes up before the lawmakers at Olympia. It is the duty of every voter, men and women, to attend the primaries next Tuesday and speak in no uncertain tones as to whether they want to have a county for the people of the west end of Klickitat or not.
