PICTURESQUE TROUT LAKE -- PROSPEROUS DAIRY AND LUMBER DISTRICT
The richness, beauties, and wonderfulness of the famous
Trout Lake district, twenty miles north of White Salmon, has been revealed
to the editor through a recent visit to that section. A more prosperous section
has seldom been seen for on every side was found modern dairy ranches, neat
farm houses and a thriving community.
Fine dairy herds roamed over beautiful green meadows,
and hay fields indicating a rich harvest of large crops dotted the country.
Here and there the buz of the saws were heard from lumber mills which add
to that section. Prosperity was seen on every hand.
As a summer resort Trout Lake has no rival. The location
is ideal, the little town nestled at the foot of Mt. Adams, on the banks
of a rushing stream and on the edge of a lake, is the fisherman's paradise
and the attraction of Mountain climbers who love to scale the glaciers and
dizzy heights of the famous snow peak.
Trout Lake residents have reasons to be proud of their
section, they have a perfect right to boast of the rich resources of that
wonderful district.
