NIGHT AND DAY SHIFT AT DAM
Development of Power Means Much for Valley
A force of about 100 men are at works at the dam site
in night and day shifts. The Northwestern Electric will push the work from
now on as fast as possible.
The power of possibilities of the White Salmon river
mean much to this section and will be more fully realized as time passes
and more development comes. It means much to have electric lights in the
home and to be able to run machinery and household labor-savers such as washing
machines, sewing machines, sausage grinders, carpet sweepers, laundering
irons, and cooking utensils. Pumps will be largely operated by electricity
and with further invention, a lot of labor will be saved by making use of
water now going to waste.
There is no reason why several factories should not come
as a result of the development of White Salmon power from its swiftly flowing
river, along which are several fine dam sites.
