"Trout Lake"
A name that for the new county should be clear and understandable. The name of Warlyn does not seem to fit the bill and either Warner or Joslyn, it appears, would suit the people better. The name of "Potah," Indian for Mount Adams, has been suggested. There are other Indian names for the White Salmon and Klickitat rivers that would be very good. The red men they had streams and other places named for whatever claimed their attention at a given point. One part of the Columbia river was called "Chock-a-lilum."
