K. OF P. ANNIVERSARY
The fifty-first anniversary of the order of Knights of
Pythias will be celebrated in this city by Friendship Lodge No. 37, Knights
of Pythias, and the Pythian Sisters, on Wednesday evening, February 17th,
in the K. of P. Hall. Committees are at present at work making arrangements
for the occasion, and an evening of pleasure is anticipated.
On the occasion a number of speakers will give short
addresses, among them being Frank Stimpson, of Portland, who has been a member
of this lodge for many years, and who has come up on similar occasions in
the past. A program of music, vocal and instrumental, will be arranged, as
well as other appropriate numbers. Following the program the evening will
be spent with cards and dancing. A banquet is also to be a part of the evening's
celebration, which, through the aid of the Pythian Sisters, will by no means
be a minor detail.
There is to be a class of candidates for the First Rank,
which will be given in the fore part of the evening. For this reason the
work of the lodge will take up not later than seven o'clock, in order that
the work will be completed early in the evening.
Members of both lodges, and their families are invited
to be present on the occasion, as well as a number of persons who do not
belong, but are interested in the work. An invitation is being extended to
members at Centerville to attend and assist in the celebration of this
anniversary.
That details of the program will be more fully arranged
and worked out later. Lodges all over this land will be celebrating this
anniversary and Goldendale will not be lacking in the spirit of the undertaking.
