44 YEARS SPENT AS MAIL CARRIER
----------
White Salmon Man Holds Record For Star Route
----------

Teunis Wyers Jr., owner of the Wyers Stage Company, White Salmon, has carried the mail in this territory continuously since 1898. For 44 years he has been the familiar mail carrier throughout this district. He started on horseback and now operates a large fleet of GMC trucks under the firm name of the Wyers Stage company.
Mr. Wyers has secured the star route every four years since 1894 and now has 44 years of continuous service. He holds the record for having carried a star route for a longer continuous time that any other carrier in the United States.
The Wyers Stage company purchased the first GMC trucks used in the White Salmon district and has continued to use the GMC's exclusively. Mr. Wyers last week ordered a Model T-18 with a school bus body from Wentworth & Irvin, Inc. Portland.
Mr. Wyers owns thousands of acres of farm and grazing land in and around White Salmon and also raises stock on a large scale.
