FRICK BACK AND MUCH SURPRISED
Charles Frick, who suddenly disappeared from the cabin on his five-acre tract on the White Salmon river last summer, and could not be found, returned yesterday. He was surprised and angry at the condition in which he found his place, a 140-foot tunnel under it, a highway, flume way, several great excavations, and half a dozen sheds. It did not look like the place he had been developing for an orchard and had partly set to trees, building great hopes on it, for he had used his last cent with which to buy the tract and wheeled his goods from the station, a distance of three miles, in a wheel-barrow. The Northwestern Electric Co. had followed his disappearance with their development work. Mr. Davis wanted to find Frick in order to by the place, failing in which he placed $1,000 in the treasurer's office at Goldendale for him, saying he had heard Frick had said he would take $1000 for it. Frick denies having said this, and the result maybe a suit for damages.
