BICKLETON NEWS SOLD

Wishing to retire from the newspaper business, we have sold the Bickleton News to A.S. Hilyer of the Sunnyside Sun and he will take possession in an few weeks.
Mr. Hilyer is well known to many of our people and is a thorough newspaper men. He is the oldest weekly newspaper publisher in this section, is conversant with the work of building and putting out a good small town paper. He freighted from Toppenish before the railroad or town was there, and had to swim the river at times with a bundle of newspapers strapped to his back, has gone through real pioneering in the newspaper business, is still a young man full of pep and is a go-getter in the newspaper busines.
In 1906 worked on the Toppenish Review. Established the Zillah Free Press in 1910 and in 1912 the Granger Enterprise, in 1918 bought the Sunnyside Sun, and is preparing to give Bickleton the best paper that she ever had, enlarging the paper and furnishing a comic supplement and correspondents from county points. Your united co-operation with Mr. Hilyer insures Bickleton a good paper. We came here strangers and have spent thirteen years with you and we have enjoyed the years, and are sincere and earnest when we said say that this community is outstanding for its splendid progressive people and high ideals in business, home and every walk of life and have that neighborly and kindly spirit that they can come into your home, come close to you and share your joys and sorrows. We have so recommended the community to Mr. Hilyer and we know he will find it will ring true. We have had other opportunities to sell the News and only two years ago we sold and later handed the check back to the purchaser, we have never been satisfied to turn the paper into hands that might not make good. Your acquaintance with Mr. Hilyer assures you a good paper successfully carried on. We will continue publishing the news until Mr. Hilyer take possession the middle of July or first of August.
