ALL MANIACS
The "Centerville Times" is the name of a four column
paper which has made its appearance at Centerville. Its announcement is that
it is "the only independent paper in the county." It devotes almost all of
its space to an article against county division, heading it the "County Division
Mania."
According to this, then, there are 1033 maniacs in the
western part of Klickitat county, with a sprinkling of them in Centerville,
where a number voted for Chas. R. Spencer for the legislature. All voters
for county division are daffy, crazy, bereft of their right senses, suffering
from brain storm and headed straight for the asylum because they don't want
to pay tribute any longer to a Goldendale ring bent on retaining the rich
resources of western Klickitat county for their benefit, no matter how much
hardship it works on west and taxpayers. This is serious business. What a
march of maniacs it will be when 1033 of them are taken over to Goldendale
to be examined for their sanity, for it will never do to let so many abberated
ones run at large, threatening the peace and quiet of the county, official
salaries, hotel receipts and the business of private parties who profit from
county seat travel.
