I am seeking information about Sherwood White born 1759 probably Chatham Co., NC died 24 Dec 1848 Winston Co., Ms.  Sherwood was a Rev War Vet.  In 1840 he was living in Winston Co in the home of his Grandson James White.  Sherwood's son was Philemon Jefferson White.  He apparently lived all his life in Chatham Co., NC.
Any information will be appreciated.

RE: To Sandy: I think I can very well help you with Sherwood White that died in ARK.  My Parker/White family has these same connections in ARK.  Interisting enough you said Sherwoods son was Philemon Jefferson White from Chatham Co. NC.  My Parker ancestor: Sherwood White Parker, died in Ark. RWVet.  His son Philemon Parker, resided NC MS TX and others.  Sherwood Parker was my GGG Grandfather Stephen White Parker's bro.  They were the sons of DANIEL (E ? Edward)  PARKER who married Lucy White sister of Mary Sally White, dau of (Judge ?) Benjamin White of VA.  Daniel was born in VA.  Sarah married Elder John Parker (bn IL.) gg-grandparents of Comanche Cheif Quanah Parker.
I have been unable to find even a scrap of Judge Benj. White's robe.  I know I can help you and I think you are deffinitly our White Connection.  I have always beleived that Grandpas and Grandmas too, and that is the back door to finding our Parker/White history.  My mother was granddaughter of Benjiman Franklin Parker,  dau of Thomas Sherrod Parker.

I am looking for ANYONE who might can help.  My gg grandfather (JOSEPH MCKEE WHITE born ABT 1815) came to Pulaski Co., GA before 1850 from Sumter District, SC.  I was always told he was born in SC but in the 1880 census, it says he was born in KY.  I recently found out his parents' names, JOHN WHITE and he was married to a woman by the name of DOVIE.  The name MCKEE has been passed down for generations so I was wondering if maybe there is a family connection.  An elderly family member once told me he had a sister by the name of DOVIE, but I'm wondering if maybe they were confused and it was his mother instead or both.  If ANYONE thinks they might help, PLEASE contact me.  I would really appreciate it. Linda Elliott
