1. John1 Romaine was born on 28 Jan 1798 New York?, NY? He married Hannah Logan, daughter of Adam Logan and Hannah Pennell, on 11 Nov 1821 New York?, NY. He died on 13 Oct 1852 Ossining, Westchester County, NY, at age 54. He was buried probably 28 Dec 1853 Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, NY, in Section 6, Camp Turn [or Down], lot no. 212, plot no. 1.

He appeared on the census listing 1 male 30-40, 2 women 30-40, 1 female 5-10, 1 female under 5; 1 male 5-10 and 1 male under 5 in 1830 Cortlandt, NY. He and Hannah Logan appeared on the census John Romaine listed as a shoemaker, age 25 [sic, an error for 52?], birthplace as New York, with two Hannahs, one aged "30" [sic, an error for 50?] (Another entry on line 33 for "John Romain" [possibly John Jr. age 12?] lists his age as 26, but this may be a duplicate entry) in 1850 Ossining, Westchester County, NY.
