The
title of my webpage, "Lest We
Forget." was chosen
for a reason. It was like a voice speaking from the grave.
Searching for my ancestors was not on my list of things I wanted to do,
until I found my Grandmother's old Photo Album years after her
death. There were
pictures of people I never knew, and Grandmother had meticulously
written
the names and relationship to my family on each one as if to say, "Lest
you
forget where you came from."
This sparked my desire to learn as
much
as possible about all those who came before us, for they are a part of
us
and we will always be a part of them. We cannot escape our
origin.
They left us a heritage, not of fame or wealth, but their faith and
courage
that provided us with a better way of life.
