My hobby is genealogy. Some of my family names are WRENN, WEBSTER, STEWART/STUART, SYKES, FOSTER, MURRAY, CLAPP, ALBRIGHT, SHARP and lots of others. These settled around Alamance and Guilford Counties in North Carolina.
My brick wall's are still the parents of (Jefferson?) David WRENN, their names are Lambeth and Parthenia WRENN from Rockingham County, NC. Also the Grandparents of David's wife, Nancy Margaret FOSTER from Caswell County, NC, her parents are Lewis and Rachel Tate FOSTER. (Have discovered that her maiden name is TATE not Falle.
David Wrenn and his brother John were found in the 1860 Census in Rockingham Co. NC living with George and Martha CARTER.  David was 3 and John 12, there was also a William WREN age 8 living just 3 houses away with Charles and Sarah MATTOCK. Could this William be a brother to John and David? (Finally found Parthenia in the 1880 census with another son named Thomas age 19).  I found a marriage record for Thomas J. WRENN and Maggie WEATHERLY, her parents are from Guilford County, NC and Parthenia has moved to Alamance Co., NC.  Well, here it is several years later and I still have not found my Great grandfathers father... surely someone is looking besides me. Help, lets join forces. Something New to Report, A third cousin, the great-grandson of my great granduncle, (brother of my great grandfather) found me on the net, and we are set to share some information. I hate to say that he has the same roadblock that I do with the father of these two, but maybe with this new cousin helping me and Ken Hobbs (my other cousin) we will break through this roadblock.
Another is my WEBSTER line, William WEBSTER married Anna RAY on Mar 30, 1830 in Orange Co., NC, his father is Charles WEBSTER who married Rachel HOLT.   Charles was killed in the war of 1812.  I would love to know which HOLT is Rachel's father, I also could use some help on the RAY line . From a process of elimination I think Francis is Rachel's father, Nicholas and Eva Wilhoit Holt's granddaughter.
I now have a Henderson line from Chatham County, NC.
Caroline W. Henderson married Isaiah Mangum WEBSTER about 1857.  I need information on this Webster line and would love some 'war stories' on the Henderson line.  This line goes back to Argaleus Henderson in Chatham County.
My husband's lines are ELLIS and CURL from Hertford and Nash Counties in N.C., TART, WESTBROOK and LEE  from Harnett County, N.C.
His maternal grandfather is Thomas HOWARD who married Louise Elizabeth TART, his G-Great grandfather is John William HOWARD who married Caroline MOORE and is from Cumberland and Sampson counties. I don't know Caroline's parents but we think that John's parents are Stephen and Polly Pope Howard.
Westbrook TART and Ridley Audious HALL are his g-grandparents from Harnett County, NC. Westbrook's parents are Westbrook TART, Sr. and Winifred LEE.  Ridley's parents are Love A. HALL and Mary Ann LUCAS.   Love A. HALL's parents are Nathan HALL and Catherine SIMMONS of Cumberland County, NC.
His paternal g-grandparents are George Nathan ELLIS and Anna CURL.  George's parents are Nathan ELLIS and Priscilla BLOW. Nathan's mother is Margaret.  Priscilla's parents are Benjamin BLOW and Lucy REVELLE.   Anna's father and mother are Norfleet and Mary Jane CURL.
   Any help will be appreciated.
