In the name of God, Amen. The 2d day of May 1771, I, William Lusk of Augusta County, Va., being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, and calling to mind the mortality, knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is today; Principally, and first of all, I recommend my soul to God that gave it, and my body to the dust, to be decently interred, at the discretion of my executors and for such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, I give, bequeath, and dispose of the same in manner and form following:

Judge Charles W. Lusk, of the Sixth judicial district court of Hamilton county, Tenn., traced his lineage to Joseph Lusk, a Revolutionary soldier who was born in Augusta County and emigrated to Carolina. In will book 4, p. 423, Augusta Co., the records, of the will of William Lusk mentions "sons John and William in Carolina" and son Joseph, wife Elizabeth, Sarah and Margaret evidently at home. Joseph apparently followed his brothers to the Carolinas.

County Court Judgments, August, 1749-- William Lusk testifies that he came from Lancaster, Penna, Paxton Township" The bond in question is dated Nov. 24, 1744. There is a Lusk lot in the abandoned churchyard of Old Providence, but most of the stones have disappeared.
