Whereas James Brown on 9th October, 1754 leased 173 acres, part of 1550 acres known by the name of Mill tract on which the Court House now stands, for 57 years 6 months to said Alexander Wright, for L20. This lease witnesseth. Alexander leases to said Daniel 173 acres; James Miller's line; Beverly's line; corner of Robert Finley's land, crossing the Creek; 47 years term; re-enter if said Thomas FULTON fails to pay. To All To Whom These Presents shall Come, Greeting:

Know ye, that by virtue of a certificate in sight of settlement given by the commissioners for adjusting the titles to unpatented lands in the district of Monongalia, Yohogania and Ohio and in consideration of ancient composition of two pounds sterling paid by Samuel FULTON unto the treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Samuel FULTON assignee of Thomas Edgington who was assignee of William Haskins a certain tract or parcell of land containing 400 acres by ___ bearing date the 21st day of February 1783 lying and being in the County of Ohio including his improvement made in the year 1774 on the Ohio River, Short Creek and bounded or followeth to wit "Beginning at two elms on the bank of Short Creek at the foot of a high bank of rocks thence S 110 W 237 poles to a hickory near the top of a ridge N80' W 277 poles to a sugar tree on the bank of the river Ohio, thence up the river according to the several meanders thereof and bending therein 306 poles to the mouth of Short Creek thence up said according to the several meanders thereof and bending thereon 328 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said SAMUEL FULTON and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Edmund Randolph, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set to be affixed at Richmond, on the 5th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight and of the commonwealth the 13th .

Know ye, that by virtue and in consideration of a land office preservation warrant No. 2395 issued the 24th day of March 1783 then is granted by the said commonwealth unto Samuel FULTON assignee of John Stephensen a certain tract or parcel of land containing 200 acres by survey bearing the date the 1st day of July 1785 lying and being in the County of Ohio on the Ohio River and bounded as followeth to wit: "Beginning at a hickory and walnut on the river bank corner to John Wilson and with his lines N 880 E 283 poles to a sugar tree corner of to John McCullock and with his lines N 650 E 35 poles to four walnuts thence N 110 E 93 poles to a hickory corner to FULTON settlement and with his line N 880 W 277 poles to a sugar tree on the river bank thence down the river according to the several meanders thereof and bending thereon 142 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Samuel FULTON and his heirs forever IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Edmund Randolph, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the 5th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight and of the commonwealth the 13th.
