1. JAMES2 FULTON (JAMES1) was born Abt. 1729, and died Bef. December 19, 1781 in Augusta Co. Va.. He married MARY WARD, daughter of JOHN WARD.

Wife Mary and John Ward were the administrators of his estate 19 December 1781. The Estate was appraised June 9, 1782 by James Brownlee, Robert Doak and Thomas Boyd.

He married ABIGALE WARD January 14, 1836 in Russell County, Virginia, daughter of DAVID WARD and ELEANOR CRAVENS. She was born March 11, 1814 in Rockingham County, Virginia, and died July 09, 1845.

Obit: We are called upon this week to record the death of another of Yell County's, Oldest and most highly honored citizens, that of Hon. Andrew M. Fulton, which occurred at his home near Dardanelle on Friday night last. He represented Yell County in the first general Assembly that met after the adoption of the Constitution of 1874. The friends and relatives of this truly good man have our heartfelt sympathy in this sad hour of afflection. Dardanelle Independent 1881.

Andrew M. Fulton and James Fulton appear on Arkansas Sheriff Tax list in 1828 in Crawford County,
at that time there were only five counties in the state and Crawford County was the width of the state.

The records of Franklin County Arkansas 1845 list James Fulton paying taxes on Section S.E. 35-9-26----S.W. 6-9-26----2-8-26----SW 35-9-26.

Andrew Fulton was listed in Johnson County, Arkansas along with A.M. Ward, David Ward, Henry,
John and Joseph Ward. There was a James Fulton in Pope County, Arkansas.

William P. 6; Thomas J.4; James 1. James was born in Pa. wife in Missouri and Children in Mo.

1860 census, Yell County, Ar. Magazine Twp., Andy Fulton 52 head, Va., Robert, son, 21 b. Ark; Andy 14, Ark;
Jacob Robeson, 12 M. Sammuel 12, Robert Claud 18, M. Student blind from age 6 of a fever. Last 4 are most
likely slaves and some of them are buried in Fulton Cemetery.

"The family information passed down on Andrew Moore Fulton say that he was a large man, not overweight but
just tall and large made man. The family says he filled up a doorway when he went through it. He was a large land
owner and a collector of lands, no doubt, as many acres that he bought and sold here. There are court records for
him in Johnson County, but that is where the court met in the early years. So far, I have found no will for him but we
do have a court book missing. They think it was lost, misplaced, or something when the new courhouse at Danville

Many of these are the names of Johnson County's pioneers-- men who left comfortable Eastern and Southern homes, surrounded by all the evidences of a high civilization and, by the "sweat of their face",by toil and privations, made a new country to "blossom as the rose," while upon the hillsides, the cross-roads and in the valleys, the church and the school-house have been erected, and the whole county filled with a happy and prosperous people. To accomplish these great changes, time has been required, and surely and rapidly the grand old men and women, who in their prime entered the wilderness and claimed the virgin soil as their heritage are passing away. The number now remaining who can relate the incidents of the first settlement is small indeed.

Robert Fulton, wounded at Oak Hills, Missouri and at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, 31 Dec. 1861. Being permanently disabled at Murfreesboro, he was given an unlimited furlough. One very remarkable thing in connection with Robert Fulton's soldier life is that he was with the company about twenty months, made a good soldier, was wounded before the company fired a gun. At Oak Hills, he was wounded before the company became engaged at Elk Horn. Though we were under fire two days, yet both Gen. McCulloch and Gen. Obituary: Death Calls Sarah Yearwood Fulton, aged 77 years at her home near Pisgah Church, 8 miles southwest of this city, at 10 o'clock p.m. on Thursday of last week, February 23, 1922. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. B.A. McKnight was held at the family home Friday afternoon, February 24th, burial being in the family cemetery on the Fulton Farm. Mrs. Fulton was born in East Tennessee in the year 1846 and with her parents came to Johnston County, Arkansas, in early childhood, residing near Clarksville until her marriage to Robert Fulton. With her husband she came to Yell County, about the year 1870, locating near Pisgah. Mr. Fulton died in 1882, leaving his widow and eight children, five sons and three daughters. One daughter Mrs. E. A. Jones of this city and foru sons, three of whom live near Pisgan and one in Texas still surviving.

Mrs. Fulton resided in the Pisgah communtity for nearly a half of a century, and no woman was ever more universally loved, and none left a fairer record of noble christian charity, gentleness and kindness than she. She was a devout member of the Presbyterian Church at Gum Springs, having joined the church there twenty-six years ago at a meeting conducted by Mark Limbird and Rev. J. T. Hampton.

The death of this splendid woman robs her relatives, neighbors, and friends, of an ever sympathetic and available source of comfort, aid and counsel and her going away will be keenly and sadly felt by her community. To the surviving relatives the P.D. tenders its deepest sympathy and condolence, and for comfort can only point them to the useful, happy, blameless life she lived, and the inspiring example she has left behind.

Hospital Board has a new Member
Yell County Judge James Lee Witt has appointed Aleen Daniels to the Dardanelle Hospital board of governors. Witt notified the Quorum court of his decision monday night. Mrs. Daniels will fill the unexpired term of Norman Ward, who resigned his position on the board. "Norman had to resign because he had to work nights and didn't feel he had adequate time to devote to the position."

Aleen Daniels was selected as the Dardanelle Hospital's Board of Governors Chairman and Frank Johnston was apppointed onto the board as Secretary. Bother were chosen at the board's annual meeting July 26. Mrs. Daniels is married to George A. Daniels and the two live in Dardanelle. The couple have two granddaughters and a daughter-in-law Johnston.

Mrs. Daniels was appointed to the board in May 1979. She was reappointed for a seven year term in July 1982. Judge James Lee Witt appoints members onto the board. Other members on the 1985-95 board are Dr. James Maupin, Carl Jaggers, Bob Atkison, Dr. G. H. Cornwll, Dr. Jerry Hodges

DANIELS OBSERVED 50th ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. George Daniels quietly observed their 50th wedding anniversary at their home in Dardanelle, November 19. Mrs. Daniels the former Aleen Fulton, duaghter of the late Claud and Lillie Fulton, is a retired school principal. She is a member of the Dardanelle City Council. Daniels is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Daniels. He is employed by the Arkansas RIver Valley Regional Library. The couple were married by the late Rev. S.S. Key, a retired Methodist Minister. Both are Natives of Yell County and have spent their entire lives here witht he exception of two years in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mr. and Msrs. Daniels were the parents of one son, Bobby Lee Daniels, Deceased. They have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Married--At the home of officiating Minister, Rev. S.S. Key, November 19, 1928. Mr. Goeroge Daniels of Oklahoma and Miss Aleen Fulton of Yell County. The P.D. extends congratulations and best wishes.
