Welcome to the ALWINE research pages. This site was created as a companion to the ALWINE-L Rootsweb mailing list, and welcomes all researchers of any variation of the surname. The webmaster for this site is Christine Alwine Paige. My immigrant ancestor to America was a man named Hans Jacob Allwein, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1741 aboard the ship St. Andrew. Hans Jacob Allwein settled in Berks County, PA, and while many of his descendants still live today in Pennsylvania, many others are spread all over the country. I am so far behind on updating my database that it would be criminal for me to put any Gedcoms on this website, so you won't find any on these pages. For now, this site will have links to pages with ALWINE data on them, including one with a very comprehensive Gedcom on the Allwein/Alwine families. I have received many notes of gratitude over the years for providing so much information on the ALWINE surname. I feel compelled to say that there are so many WONDERFUL researchers in our family tree, and while I have done my share of research, there are several others who have often carried the lion's share of the work. Every Allwein/Alwine researcher I have encountered has enriched my knowledge of our family in some way, but some require special recognition. I owe a great deal of personal thanks to John F. Alwine, Marlin L. Alwine, Duane F. Alwin, Thomas L. Stobie and Nancy Allwein Nebiker -- I am proud to know I am related to each of you. I hope you find this information useful.
