WILL of Francis Locke 1868

Be it remembered that I Francis Locke of Epsom in the County of Merrimack and State of New Hampshire being of a sound mind and memory, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being desirous to settle my worldly estate while I have strength and capacity to do so, do make this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say;

First - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rhoda Locke all the household furniture that she formerly owned and all that I have purchased since our marriage, all the provisions I may have on hand at the time of my decease and one good cow.

Also, I give and devise to my said beloved wife for and during the term of her natural life, the homestead farm upon which I know live containing about eighteen acres to have and to hold the same to her and her assigns with all the appurtenances thereto belonging for and during the term aforesaid.

Second I give and bequeath to my son Daniel P. Locke and to my daughter Sarah E. Veasey the sum of one dollar each.

Third I give and bequeath to my three grandchildren, Frank T. Locke, Daniel L. Locke and Mary J. Veasey the sum of twenty five dollars each, all the aforesaid sum of money I order to be paid in one year after my decease.

Fourth, I give, bequeath and devise to my son Arthur C. Locke his heirs and assigns forever, all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate real and personal wherever found and however situated and I do hereby appoint my said son Arthur C. Locke sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight.
