from Nithsdale to the North and East of Scotland. The Romans used this route in their
military expeditions against the northern tribes of Britain. |
The outline of a roman fortlet marks one of
their command posts on the road throught the hills. Today the paved road stops at
Durisdeer Village.
A path through the glen is a popular summer walk. |
