To Any Ordained Minister of Any Religious Denomination, or Any Justice of the Peace for Anson County: John F. CRWODER having applied to me for a License for the marriage of R. Giles BREWTON of Montgomery County, aged 30 years, color white, son of George M. BREWTON and Martha S. BREWTON and of whom both are living in Montgomery County, State of North Carolina, AND Arminta BAILEY of Anson County, aged 21 years, color white, daughter of Asberry BAILEY and Mary BAILEY, and of whom both are living and residents of Anson County. Issued this 8th day of March A.D. 1882 P.J. COSSEDGE (sp) Register of Deeds for Anson County. I R.P. ALLEN, a Justice of the Peace for Anson County, united in Matrimony R. Giles BRUTON (yes spelled Bruton this time) and Araminta BAILEY, the parties licensed above on the 8th day of March, 1882, at the house of Asberry BAILEY in the town of (blank) in Wadesboro Township, in the County of Anson and State of North Carolina, according to law. AND Annie MCLENDON of Anson County aged 17 years, colored, daughter of Charles MCLENDON and Mima MCLENDON, the father is living, the mother is dead, father is a resident of Anson County, NC. Father gave written consent for the marriage. P.J. COSSUDGE (sp), Register of Deeds. State of North Carolina, Anson County. I ,  J.B.R. RICHARD, a Minister of the Baptist united in Matrimony Peter BREWTON and Annie MCLENDON the parties licensed above, on the 8 day of Jan, 1884 at Charles MCLENDON House, in Ansonville Township, Township, in said County according to law.
