2. Matthyse Hendrickse2 Smock (2000) (Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born circa 1669 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York. He married Elizabeth Stevens Coninck (2001), daughter of Jan Stevenszen Koning (3070) and Elizabeth Lucas (3071), on 12 September 1701 in the Dutch Church, New York City, New York County, New York.5 He died in March 1727 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey.12 His estate was probated on 30 May 1727 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey.13

He was also known as Matthias Smock. The anglicized version of his name. He appeared on the census of 1693 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York; On the assessment roll. He appeared on the census of 1698 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York; Appearing in the census or list of freeholders.14 He served in the New York militia, as a lieutenant of the foot company of New Utrecht in 1700.15 He witnessed (or was recognized by) the probate of the estate of Guert Coerton (2442) after 17 August 1701 in Bergen, New Jersey; Guertje Harmens, wife of Hendrick Matthyse Smock, is mentioned as "his brothers daughter" and Matthyse Hendricksen Smack as the oldest son of Guertje Harmens. He witnessed the baptism of Elizabeth Smock (2030) on 26 March 1704 in the Dutch Church, New York City, New York.16 He lived in 1718 in Piscataway, Somerset County, New Jersey; His house on River Road in Piscataway, built prior to 1721, was still occupied as late as 1936. He and Elizabeth Stevens Coninck (2001) relocated 1718 and came to reside in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He left a will on 2 October 1721.

Elizabeth Stevens Coninck (2001) was also known as Elizabeth Stevens. She was also known as Elizabeth Smalle. (per his will). She was also known as Elizabeth Janse. (Daughter of Jan? Baptism record of her daughter gives mothers name as Elizabeth Janse.). She was baptized on 11 October 1676 in the Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York; 1676, 11 Oct; Jan Stephenszen, Lysbeth Lucas; Lysbeth; Goosen Stephenszen, Maria Goosens. She married Thomas Stevens (3127) before 1700. She witnessed the baptism of Elizabeth Smock (2030) on 26 March 1704 in the Dutch Church, New York City, New York.16

Maretje Hendrickse2 Smock (2010) (Hendrick Matthyse1);4 was born circa 1670 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York.4 She married Jacques Cortelyou Jr. (2011), son of Jacques Cortelyou Sr. (2054) and Neeltje Van Duyn (3301), on 4 October 1685 in the Dutch Church. She died on 7 April 1705.

She was also known as Marike. She witnessed the baptism of Hendrick Lane (2498) on 7 March 1703 in New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.16

Jacques Cortelyou Jr. (2011) was born circa 1662 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York; He was noted as a native in the oath of allegiance, meaning he was born in the New World. He took the Oath of Allegiance to the King of England (and noted as a native of this county, and not an immigrant from abroad) between 26 September 1687 and 30 September 1687 in Kings County, New York.9 He witnessed the baptism of Hendrick Lane (2498) on 7 March 1703 in New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.16 He married Altie I. Boerman (3302) on 10 January 1705 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York. He died on 3 May 1731 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York.

Johannes Hendrickse2 Smock (2002) (Hendrick Matthyse1)5,4 was born circa 1673 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York; Virkus Compendium says 1665, while yet another source says 14 Sep 1675. He married Catherine Barents (2003) in 1692 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York. He died on 14 December 1754 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey; 14 Dec 1756 is the date given in the Early Settlers of King County book.5,4 His estate was probated on 24 January 1755.

He appeared on the census of 1698 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York; Listed as freeholder, and married, but without children. He and Catherine Barents (2003) relocated before 2 February 1705 and came to reside in Staten Island, Richmond County, New York; Listed in local records as "Hannes, Assessor, West." He appeared on the census of 1706 in Staten Island, New York; In the census, his age is noted as "33", men over 16 are "John Smak", under boys are "Hendrak Smak," Barnt Smak," and "John Smak," and under girls "Anne Smok" and "Catherine Smok", and under women "Catherine Smok." He and Catherine Barents (2003) relocated 1712 and came to reside in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He was deeded for 230 acres in Middletown township and for 4 acres of salt meadow in Shoal Harbor, valued at 1,200 pounds on 9 December 1712 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He witnessed (or was recognized by) the probate of the estate of Leonard Hendrickse Smock (2004) on 12 April 1739; Johannes, his brother, was the executor. He left a will on 24 September 1754; Names wife Catherine, children Barnes; Ann, wife of John Teunison; "Morritey," wife of Cornelius "van de Vear;" grandchildren "Johannis," "Garrat," Barnes, Nelly, and Catherine, children of his deceased son Hendrick. The executor of the will was his son Barnes, son-in-law John Teunisson, and Cornelius van de Vear, and grandson of Johannis Smock.

Catherine Barents (2003) was also known as Femmetje Barents.5 She was born circa 1661. She appeared on the census of 1706 in the household of Johannes Hendrickse Smock (2002) in Staten Island, New York; In the census, his age is noted as "33", men over 16 are "John Smak", under boys are "Hendrak Smak," Barnt Smak," and "John Smak," and under girls "Anne Smok" and "Catherine Smok", and under women "Catherine Smok." She left a will on 15 November 1759; Within she leaves to her daughter Anne Tunison half her money, and chattel, and to her youngest daughter "Marritjie Vanderveer" the other half and all money owed to her. Cornelius Vanderveer, her son-in-law, was the executor. She died in 1764 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Her estate was probated on 16 April 1764 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

5. Martynetje Hendrickse2 Smock (2012) (Hendrick Matthyse1);4 was born in 1674 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York; Other records note the birth date as 1674/75.17,4 She married Adrian Lane (2013), son of Gesbert Lane (3678) and Jannetje Adrianse Lamperson (3679), before 1698.

Her married name was Lanen. She lived in 1699 in Monmouth County, New York. She witnessed the baptism of Hendrick Lane (2498) on 7 March 1703 in New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.16

Adrian Lane (2013) was also known as Adrian Laan. He was born circa 1677. He witnessed the baptism of Hendrick Lane (2498) on 7 March 1703 in New Amsterdam, Kings County, New York.16

6. Leonard Hendrickse2 Smock (2004) (Hendrick Matthyse1)4 was born circa 1675 in New Utrecht, Kings County Long Island, New York.4 He married Sarah Barents (2005) circa 1697. He died before 12 April 1739. His estate was probated on 12 April 1739; Johannes, his brother, was the executor.

He was also known as Leendert Smock. He witnessed the baptism of Annetjie Smock (2045) on 23 July 1707 in the Dutch Church, Staten Island, Richmond County, New York. He relocated 1716 and came to reside in New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The date of Leonards relocation accords with that of the incoming of Dutch settlers from New York to the valley of the Raritan in New Jersey. The settlement of Dutch families at Indian's Ferry, now New Brunswick, was at about this date. He witnessed the baptism of Leendert Boice (3700) on 19 June 1728 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey. He left a will on 11 October 1738 in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey; His brother, Johannes, is assigned as executor.

Sarah Barents (2005)4 was born circa 1669. She witnessed the baptism of Leendert Boice (3700) on 19 June 1728 in Sourland Dutch Church, Somerville, Somerset County, New Jersey. Her estate was probated on 2 May 1755 in Somerset County, New Jersey.

Sarah Hendrickse2 Smock (2014) (Hendrick Matthyse1);4 was born circa 1678 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York.12,4 She married Adrian Hendrikse Boerum (2015), son of Hendrick Williamse Boerum (2901) and Maria Ariens Lammertzen (2902), on 1 September 1709 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York.12

She gave testimony to prove the will of Deborah Smith, and in which she states her age as 26 years old on 27 June 1704. She witnessed (or was recognized by) the probate of the estate of Leonard Hendrickse Smock (2004) on 12 April 1739; Johannes, his brother, was the executor.

Adrian Hendrikse Boerum (2015) was also known as Adrian Borum. He was born circa 1677 in New York.

Children of Sarah Hendrickse2 Smock (2014) and Adrian Hendrikse Boerum (2015) were:

8. Aertje Hendrickse2 Smock (2016) (Hendrick Matthyse1);4 was born in 1679/80 in New Utrecht, Kings County, New York. She married Dirk Jansen (2553) before 1711.12
