My name is Carol Hepburn and I am married and the mom of
one very special child. My husband, David, and I
have been married for 24 years. We have one son, age
15. We currently live in the Phoenix metropolitan
area. My husband is a marketing consultant and I am a
stay at home Mom. I help my husband in his business as
a web/graphic artist and a general all-around administrative
assistant.
We have three cats: Zachary (age 18), Winston
and Gus (both age 1).
Our favorite past-time includes reading, listening to
music, traveling, watching the cats do silly things, and spending time together.

| We are blessed to
live near both sets of parents. We try and
see our parents and parents-in-law each week and make sure
we are spending quality time with them. We are active in our church,
Scottsdale Bible Church, where I have served in Children's
Ministry (AWANA and Sunday school) off and on for the past
12 years. Our son attends my parent's church, Paradise
Valley Community Church, for weekly Youth and Discipleship
classes (closer to our home -- works great for mid-week
activities). He also serves as a Game Assistant for
their AWANA Bible Club on Wednesday evenings.
Our son is a gifted pianist and performs regularly for
the Veteran's Nursing Home in Phoenix, local charity groups,
and at the Mall during the Christmas season. You can
listen to some of his piano music here (old -- he has his
own website
now and is working more on writing and arranging music
for his chamber group and own performances.) We started
home schooling our son in April of 2004. As a gifted
student, he struggled in a traditional school setting and
though we tried several approaches to teaching him (special
classes/testing), we finally accepted the Lord's calling to
teach him at home. You can read about our spiritual
journey (and disobedience) here.
We firmly believe we were meant to home school our son from
the beginning, but were mislead and pressured into listening
to other well-meaning parents who discouraged us from
teaching an only child at home. God is Gracious and
Forgiving and has blessed our home schooling efforts
greatly. We now know that home schooling WAS HIS idea
and that obedience to His way brings joy, contentment, and
abundant blessing. |
