PAF-TEMPLES Mailing List

This mailing list is NOT sponsored by the LDS Church.

Hello:

My name is Annette Womack and I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in October of 1966. I have been involved in genealogy work since the year following, finally taking taking on clients professionally since about 1975.

In 1988, I became the first director of the local "ward" (or Phase 3) Family History Center where I live. I was also called as the first Ward Consultant and as a Stake Specialist in my ward and stake. In 1988, I purchased my first DOS computer and installed PAF as soon as I could get a copy. By August of 1997, that old computer had had it and the tiny 20m hard drive was full of "only" PAF program and data. So I purchased a HP Pavilion with 6g hard drive. It is now half full of mostly genealogy stuff. <grin>

The purpose of of this mailing list is for members of the LDS Church to exchange information, ideas, and discuss just about any topic that concerns the use of any version of the Personal Ancestral File program and how it relates to use in family history research and temple submissions. However, non-members may wish to subscribe to get the benefits of discussion on PAF.

JUST REMEMBER: to please change the subject line to reflect the topic and don't just hit the reply button unless the topic is the same..

You can subscribe or unsubscribe yourself by sending the one word messages "subscribe" or "unsubscribe" without the quotes to [email protected] (or using a "D" instead of the "L" for the digest version.) There is no "no mail" mode, so if you have to not receive mail (such as vacation), you will need to unsubscribe and then resubscribe later.

Topics for the list is anything that is of concern about the PAF program and/or temple submissions, problems and/or uplifting stories, changes in temple procedures as it relates to the PAF program, and soforth.

Announcements of PAF upgrades are of interest also. PAF 4.0 for windows is available free as a downgrade from the FamilySearch site (http://www.familysearch.org) There is also a mailing list for FHC staff and directors, if you happen to also serve in that position. There are quite a few mailing list focusing on the needs of the LDS. If you don't have access to "Cyndi's List of Internet Sites." send me a message and I'll send you the link for that page.

PEASE DO NOT put virus warnings, chain letters, "poor little child" letters, jokes, flame, and so forth on this mailing list. It is for a specific use, and that is to support the genealogy reseachers.

One last note: I have a web page that you can access by "CLICKING HERE".
The web page also gives a little background on me and my online activities.

Also if you click here,
I have a homepage of my favorite links and other LDS interest..
